Our 2008 Development Plan includes:-

DEVELOPMENT HISTORY

Goringgc.org was originally designed for the Club by "Society Golfing" who supplied the CGI scripts and hosted the site from launch in November 2000 until March 2004 when Web services were transferred to Pandemedia.

2007

• Restaurant Online – online booking/payment /marketing facilities for Club Sunday Lunches/Social Events.
• Reporting the swipe card balance onto each member’s personal details page
• Text messaging used to communicate with members.
• Online subscription payment facilities introduced for members.
• Competition Book Global – online maintenance by the Club of the details of all our Open, Men’s, Ladies, Mixed and Junior competitions.
• Audit trail provided.
• eBulletin Global - bulk email enhancements to filter members emailed and provide an attachment facility.
• The number of visits to our website in 2007 exceeded 240,000, page views were 689,000 and cash processed through our various payment strands was £56,000.
• In 2007 the Club spent £7,725 on website development.

2006

• The site was completely re-designed to conform with the AA (Double A) specification of the W3C Website Accessibility Guidelines.
• Junior and Ladies areas created
• Subscription renewals were sent to 600 members via email
• Open competitions changed to allow online entry/payment with self-selection of start times
• The number of visits to our website in 2006 exceeded 150,000
• In 2006 the club spent £6,500 on website development

• The menu structure was changed to include the facility for members to obtain a starting time online for stroke play competitions and to record a match play result
• The paper based starting sheets and match play draw sheets were withdrawn
• A PC with broadband connectivity was deployed in the clubhouse for members use who did not have access to the internet at home or work
• A Refund Policy in respect of the five online payment facilities was introduced in March
• Payment facilities switched to Barclays Merchant Services online ePDQ system

• Online green fee booking facilities introduced
• The Club's privacy policy was established
• Fixture card automatically linked to the online tee booking system

• Management information section added covering Club accounts, reports from the Sports Turf Research Institute on the condition of the course, and website statistics
• Committee details page added with photographs and notes of committee meetings
• General information section added in the members area which includes a “Competitions Book” detailing the Club's competitions, the course policy document, and information about the 1895 Club

• The site was redesigned by Society Golfing
• Facilities introduced to report stroke play competition results

2001

The members area was created, a secure website exclusively for Member's use, including a members directory listing member's names, handicap & contact information with the facility to print a handicap certificate.

WEBSITE LAUNCHED IN NOVEMBER

Initially our website was a sales & marketing brochure developed through the Club’s house committee which gave users:

• A general overview of the Club.
• Details of the course.
• A regularly updated Fixture Card for members and visitors.
• A system to help golf organisers book golf days.
• Information about membership of the Club.

1. PERSONAL INFORMATION

From time to time, you will be asked to submit personal information about yourself (e.g. name and email address etc.) in order to receive or use services on our website.

Rest assured that we value your privacy highly. This information will only be used in connection with the service that required you to submit it and we will never give out your personal information to a third party for any reason whatsoever without your prior consent.

2. ABOUT COOKIES

When you enter this site your computer will automatically be issued with a cookie. Cookies in themselves do not identify the individual user, just the computer used. Many sites do this whenever a user visits their site in order to track traffic flows. Cookies from this site will no longer be stored on your computer once you have closed your browser.

REFUND POLICY

1. OBJECTIVE

Our objective is to provide the best possible standard of service to visitors and members of the Club. It is appreciated that circumstances may arise where it is necessary for you to cancel a booking or for us to do so - for example when the course has to be closed due to adverse weather conditions.

Whilst we are exempt from most of the provisions of the Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations 2000 - they do not apply to the Club due to the nature of our business (leisure etc.) - the purpose of our policy is to clearly state when a refund is available and the terms applicable.

2. WHAT IS THE CLUB'S REFUND POLICY?

In the event of cancellation by either party we will initially offer an alternative date at no extra charge or refund the payment received on the following terms where applicable:-

• Payment made by debit card or cheque: 100% - full refund.
• Payment made by credit card: 95% - to recover commission and other charges.

3. APPLICATION

Refunds will be made in the following circumstances - you do not need to give a reason for cancelling.

Online Tee Bookings:

(a) In the event of the course being closed by the Club or the course not being available to you for any other reason.

(b) Informing us prior to the date/time selected to play that you wish to withdraw the booking.

Entries for Open Competitions:

(a) On notifying the Club of your withdrawal prior to the closing date for any competition.

(b) On being balloted out by the Club if the competition is oversubscribed

Deposits paid for Golf Societies/Corporate Days/Social Functions/Meetings:

3 months in advance of the date booked.

5. REFUNDING PAYMENTS

Bookings or competition entries paid for by debit or credit card on our website will be refunded directly to the debit or credit card from which the payment was made. Bookings or competition entries paid for by other means will be refunded by cheque. These refunds will normally be made within 21 days of the refund application.
