Goring & Streatley Golf Club is committed to an on going program of continuous improvement in the quality and care of the course. We use the latest machinery and techniques to ensure that our course is maintained to the highest possible standards throughout the year, and to produce some of the finest greens in the South of England.
We have a superb team of course staff led by Brian Valentine and his deputy Michael Strange, both of whom have been with the club for over thirty years. To support Brian and his team our greenkeepers complex was rebuilt in 2002 to expand the storage space for our machinery and improve staff facilites.
In 2003 a drainage project was finished incorporating a new pond on the 8th hole and in 2004 we completed a major programme to refurbish all the bunkers on the course.
We have recently finished upgrading the pathways on the course using rubberised surfaces, and in consultation with our course architect we regularly review the design of the course.
All players are requested to support the care of the course by :
• Replacing divots on fairways and in the rough
• Repairing pitchmarks on the greens
• Raking bunkers
• Using the sand soil mixture provided to repair divots on par 3 tees
