Visitor Guidelines

Goring and Streatley Golf Club -

General

Whilst visitors to the Club are most welcome, we do have a number of guidelines which should be respected (it is no less so for our members).

Note: The Club reserves the right to request any person disregarding or abusing these guidelines to withdraw from the Course or Clubhouse.

Dress on the Course

The following are NOT acceptable:

  • Denim jeans
  • Shorts, unless of the tailored variety
  • Trainers

Gentlemen must wear shirts with a collar, or collarless if the shirt is designed for playing golf, and in all cases they must be tucked in at the waist. Ladies may wear short golf shirts outside if they are specifically designed for that purpose with a collar or sleeve. All players must wear golf shoes on the course. Shorts must be worn with preferably long or short sports socks, which cover the ankle bone.

Soft spikes are neither required nor recommended by the Club.

Dress in the Clubhouse

Smart casual dress, including clean and dry golfing attire, may be worn in all ground floor bar areas of the clubhouse. No wet or muddy clothing is permitted in any bar area at any time, nor are golf shoes (except in the Centenary Bar), waterproof clothing or hats. Shoes and socks must be worn at all times.

First Floor of the Clubhouse

Smart casual dress (e.g. collared shirt, slacks and shoes) and more formal dress are both acceptable as may be agreed with event organisers prior to functions taking place.

Mobile Telephones

On the Golf Course

Mobile telephones must not to be used on the course but may be carried in the golf bag (switched off) for Health & Safety use only in the event of an emergency arising during play.

Within the Clubhouse

At the discretion of event organisers mobile telephones may be used in the Restaurant. On the ground floor mobile telephones may only be used in the Roy Mason Bar. We ask that ring tones be silenced and individuals keep the volume of their conversation to a level that does not interfere with others relaxation. At no time may a mobile phone or indeed the camera be used within the confines of a locker room.

Disabled Access

Disabled guests are very welcome. We provide special facilities at the rear of the Clubhouse for disabled guests to use to enable access to the first floor restaurant.

Club Safety Policies

All players must abide by our Buggy & Course Safety Policies which can be accessed from the links below:

About our Winter Greens

Golfers please note that there are purpose built winter greens on the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 10th and 17th holes. These are defined as wrong greens and players must take relief, without penalty, in accordance with Rule 25 - 3b.

When main greens are in use in the winter relief must similarly be taken from the temporary greens on the other holes (these are marked by white lines).
